Changes in Troop Adult Leadership

posted Sep 29, 2016, 7:55 PM by Doug Schaefer
Parents, I wanted to update you on some recent announcements regarding our Adult Leadership....

At our last committee meeting, both Dave Kelch and I announced that we would be stepping down from our positions as Scoutmaster and Committee Chairman respectively, this June. Dave has been volunteering his time to various troops and packs as an adult leader for over 20 years. Dave will continue to serve with the troop but in a capacity where he can spend more time mentoring the boys and less time managing paperwork.

For me, I have had some recent health issues and am under doctor's orders to reduce my responsibilities outside of my career and home life. I also intend to stay involved as a committee member but in a role with less responsibilities.

We are seeking volunteers to fill these positions and other positions that will be vacated in the next 2 years as adult leaders with sons aging out become less active with the troop. If you are interested in helping out on camping trips (assistant Scoutmasters) or helping with troop business (committee members), please let me know. Troop 137 has been thriving for over 50 years because of the parents who volunteer. Please help us ensure that the troop will continue on for another 50.

Thank you,

Doug Schaefer
