Scouts/Parents...

Some important information and upcoming news.

- Our camping trip for April will be April 22-24.  We will be staying at the US Coast Guard station in Cape May New Jersey.  Because we are staying on a miltary base, we need to get them information earlier than we usually need it.  As such, we need a final count of who is going by next meeting, Thursday April 7th.  We'll also need to know all parents/leaders who are going as well so we can forward the information on.  The cost for the trip is $15.  We will be eating at the barracks, so that fee covers meals for the weekend.  We are working on various tours and other activities, so it should be a fun weekend.  As always please reach out to me with any questions.

- At our Court of Honor last night, we heard from our Friends of Scouting representative.  I am asking that any family who was not at the meeting last night to please pick up an envelop.  If you can donate and help out that is great, but even if you can't please fill it out and return it.  The more families who respond, regardless of donating, helps our troop on our Path To Excellence goals.  If you have any questions, please see Debby Peters or any of the adult leaders.

- We have had several boys age out of the troop which resulted in vacating youth leadership roles.  We have moved some guys around to fill, but any scout who wants or needs a leadership position, please email me or see me at a meeting.  We are looking primarily for Troop Guides, OA Representative, and Troop Chaplain.

- We need to find a new Troop Committee Chair Person.  This position does not require camping every month. (though you can of course :) ) This adult runs the troop committee, and handles or appoints people to handle much of the administrative aspects of running the troop.  We have an excellent committee already in place to help support the chair person.  If you have any questions about the position, please contact Doug Schaefer or myself.

- Any adult that wants to help out in any manner, please also contact me.  We have so many things that we can use help with, and they don't require wearing a uniform or camping.  The help can be an "official" position, or even just volunteering to help with one or two specific tasks.

- Anyone who has not already signed up for summer camp but is interested in going, please let me know.  While going to summer camp is not required it is highly recommended.  There are so many opportunities to earn numerous merit badges, including ones that are very difficult to get outside of a summer camp. The boys always have a great time, and it's an excellent learning and bonding experience.

- We have a few fund raising opportunities coming up as well, which can help pay for or offset the cost of summer camp.  In the next few months we will have our Joe Corbi pizza sale.  We are also working on a Rita's water ice fund raiser.

Our other upcoming trips:
April 22-24 - Coast Guard, Cape May
May 20-22 - Tohickon Valley
June 17-19 - White Water Rafting - Poconos
July 17-23 - Summer Camp - Camp Sinoquipe.
