Just a few reminders and notices of some important information.  If your son is not getting emails but has an email address, please feel free to send me the address and we can add it in so he can receive these as well.  Be assured, these email addresses are shared with no one.  They are for internal troop use only and are never given to anyone else, not even council.  So, no additional spam will come from it, other than my emails.  :)

SUMMER CAMP
I have the following boys listed as going to summer camp and having paid their deposit.  If you believe you should be on this list and are not, I need to know by 3:00PM today, no later.  I need to get names and counts in to the camp.  Paying the balance by 5/28 will secure you the discount rate of $360.  Paying your deposit later than today, or paying your balance later than 5/28 will result in the cost going up to $385.

SERVICE PROJECTS
If you are able to do the St. Joe's on Sunday, please contact me right away so we have a count.  The plan is for any boys or parents wanting to help to meet at the Rita's between 10:15 and 10:30.  Mr. Borzillo will get your name recorded and hand out orange safety vests.
Also, if you want to participate in the Broad Street run, we need names by next week so we can register.  Even though it's not until May, we need numbers very soon.  If you can make it, please let me know ASAP.

1) Sunday March 3, St. Joseph's church is being rededicated by the Archbishop.  The church would like our help in directing traffic and helping park cars after the 10:00 mass and through the 11:30 mass when the Archbishop will be there.  The troop will also have a part in the mass.  Anyone interested, please contact me.

2) March 28, 9:00 - 11:00: Easter Egg Hunt at Upper Nike Field in Warrington to distribute Easter eggs.  Contact me or Mr. Borzillo.  We need 6-10 boys for this,
3)
April 25, 7:30a.m. until 10:30 a.m.Cornerstone 1 mile fun run/5k run at Cornerstone Gym in Warrington

7:30 a.m. we need boys to work the registration booths, set up posters and banners

9:00 a.m the 1 mile fun run starts: if any boys want to participate in the 1 mile fun run, they can

9:30 am. is the 5k which runs through Palomino Farms. We need boys to work the water table and hand out cups of water to the runners. We need some of the older boys to be strategically placed along the course to let runners know where to run. If any of the boys want to run in this race they can as well.
4) May 5th, 7:30 to10:00a.m.: Work the water booth at the Broad Street Run  The largest 10 mile race in the country with over 40,000 runners. The boys would work a water booth at the starting line of the race where the Mayor of Philadelphia kicks off the race. Should be exciting and fun and once the 40k runners go by we clean up and head back.

Coming up, more information to follow:
Mercer Museum
Bucks County SPCA  in Lahaska.

If anyone is interested in any of these projects, contact me or Mr. Borzillo.  We will be getting Mr. Borzillo a troop email address in the near future.

WICEN'S SHOOTING TRIP - 3/20 - 3/22
We need to start getting names for this trip, we have a good list so far.  If you could please email me to confirm you are going, that would be great.  The cost this year looks to be $45.  That is due to Wicen's raising the cost per boy to camp and the rising cost of ammunition.  We'll need payment for this trip by the meeting on 3/12.  Let me know if you want it taken from your scout account, or contact me if you have any questions.

Thanks!

YiS,
Dave Kelch

December trip notes

Trip photos from Mr. Schaefer are posted.  Click the Photos link on the website menu to see all our troop pictures.

We had a fantastic weekend at Ockanickon.  The weather didn't cooperate as we would have liked, but if you have to have a cold rainy trip, having it when you're staying in a nice cabin is the way to go.
A couple of items...  We had left in the cabin, without owners, a green coat, a pair of thermal under wear bottoms, and a pair of thermal underwear tops, if they are yours, let me know, I will bring them to the next meeting.  Also, one of our boys was unable to find his scout pants this morning.  If they got mixed in with someones gear and you find them, please email me so I can pass on the news and please bring them to the meeting.

All in all it was a great weekend, I am VERY proud of our boys.  We hosted two Webelos dens, and while the weather necessitated a change in plans, the visiting Webelos had a good time and I received numerous compliments from their leaders on the behavior, guidance, kindness and leadership of our boys.  I cannot agree with them more, we have a wonderful group of scouts.  I wanted to especially mention the incredible job that Brian and Sean did as SPL and ASPL...managing over 30 scouts of such a large age range, indoors, and in one room is a difficult task to say the least, but they did an amazing job.  We even got everyone packed up, the cabin cleaned, and gear loaded, and left on time!!  AMAZING!!  I want to also thank our Patrol Leaders, Kyle, Andrew, and Jesse, for managing their patrols and assisting Brian and Sean, they did a great job, we are very proud of them.  Over the weekend we conducted several Scoutmaster conferences and Boards of Review resulting in 6 rank advancements ranging from Scout Rank to Eagle Palms...way to go guys!!

I want to also thank our adult leaders for their assistance, professionalism and comradeship.  Thanks to Messrs Dessino, Goldberg, Rubas, Schaefer, Caimi, and Sholly.

We were unable to do the planned road cleanup due to the large amount of rain and subsequent road conditions, but we will reschedule it for the near future.
